A good news for the students of class 10th of Tamil Nadu is here to come soon. The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu is likely to release the results for the class 10 Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SCCL) board exams by May 19, 2017. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their results from the official website and check this page to be notified when the results are announced.

This year, the state government will not rank students at the state and district levels in Plus 2 and SSLC exams as the ranking system promoted unhealthy competition among schools, according to the state.

According to the School Education Secretary T Udhayachandran,“Examinations and marks are incidental in the journey of education and are not the ultimate destination. While exams are a good method to assess the competitive spirit of students within the classroom, we saw that over the last few years, it is being misused and has led to a lot of concerns,”

A few days back the the results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Plus two exams were declared. More than 8 lakh candidates have appeared this year. This year’s overall pass percentage for the HSC exams stood at 92.1 per cent. Girl, who scored a pass percentage of 94.5 per cent, fared better than boys whose pass percentage was 89.3 per cent.

A new system have also took place for the result declaration in Tamil Nadu. Now the students can get their results sitting at their living rooms. Gone are the days when students used to stand near the notice borad for hours in the scorching heat.

The introduction of declaring results through SMS by the Tamil Nadu government was welcomed by several parents who felt it was much easier experience for their kids. This year, however, the decision of the state government to provide Class XII results through SMS went one step ahead to reduce any anguish and helped students get their marks with a simple message.

Less than 10 minutes after the officials unveiled the results in Chennai, most parents received details of the marks on their registered mobile numbers -a neat break-up of marks in theory and practicals and total.

More new technologies are being introduced to make the result declaration process more smooth. Students can check their results at http://tnresults.nic.in/

All the best to all the students waiting eagerly for the results!!
