Candidates who have scored at least 55% in their master’s degree are eligible for NET. CBSE conducts the UGC NET exams for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for universities and colleges across India. UGC (University Grants Commission) is a statutory organisation established by the union government in 1956. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognised universities and colleges.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor.

This year, the results declaration in May has been delayed twice already, due to protests over unfair difficulty levels in different question papers and subsequent stay by Madras High Court. But after settlement of the issue, Central Board of Secondary Education is set to announce the results for UGC NET. The exam was conducted on January 22 in 84 subjects at 90 selected NET examination cities spread across the country.

CBSE’s role is restricted only up to the conduct of UGC NET Examination and declaration of result. The e-certificates to qualified candidates are issued by UGC- NET Bureau.
We wish the aspiring candidates, all the very best.
