CBSE makes Aadhaar Card mandatory for Class 9th and 11th registration; Parents protesting against decision

CBSE made Aadhaar Card mandatory for the board exam registration of Class 9th and 11th. The online registrations process for the board examinations has started for class 9 and class 11 on the website of Central Board of Secondary Education at cbse.nic.in. In the wake of this order of the CBSE, hundreds of parents and the members of the association erupts protest in front of the Board regional office of Bhubaneshwar. They are alleging that there are no such orders or the norms mentioned in the Supreme Court’s guidelines. Also, they urged the board to withdraw the decision.

The Central Board of Secondary Education organisation has come up with the new registration process for the board examination where they made Aadhaar card a mandatory number to fill during registration. So, the candidates who have Aadhaar card number are requested to register themselves for the board examinations.

However, on 26 September board released the official notification regarding the detailed rules for Class 9th and 10th registrations of the CBSE affiliated schools. The notification of CBSE consists the point of Aadhar number mandatory for registration. It further added that the students without Aadhar card can mention their Aadhar enrolment number or may also provide bank details in lieu of Aadhaar number during registrations. The candidates can register themselves by visiting the official website of CBSE at cbse.nic.in. Along with Aadhar number, they also required their personal details.
