Oracle adds new features to its IoT Cloud platform

Expanding its Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud portfolio, Oracle on Thursday rolled out ‘Digital Twin’ and ‘Digital Thread’ capabilities, powered by built-in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

The new features will help customers gain operation-wide visibility and leverage predictive insights from connected assets which can increase deployment times, reduce costs and improve business outcomes.

“IoT holds the potential to transform today’s siloed operations into a modern, interconnected, digital set of workflows with real-time visibility and responsiveness,” said Bhagat Nainani, Group Vice President, IoT Applications, Oracle, in a statement.

“By receiving real-time data streams enhanced with predictive insights, they can reach new levels of intelligence and a much quicker realisation of return on investments,” Nainani added.

The company had recently introduced new industry solutions for digital field service, smart connected factories and digital fleet management.

Oracle IoT Cloud is offered both as software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service, rendering the services adaptability for demanding implementations.
