Reliance 4G volte JIO phone of Rs 1500 online booking will start from 24 August 2017. The beta testing of the Jio phones, announced almost three weeks ago at the annual general meeting of the Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) will commence today, August 15. The testing phase for the much awaited smartphones will be done by a select group of Reliance employees, who will report back on possible bugs. The company is hoping to correctly identify possible hardware and software issues and fix them swiftly before the scheduled launch of the phones in September. The Jio phone will carry a number of new hardware features such as 4G VoLTE internet and compatibility with multimedia apps, as well as the ability for the mobile device to sync with smart TVs.
While consumers have to wait for September to get their hands on the Jio phone, offline bookings for the phone have already started with retailers in the Delhi-NCR region taking bookings ahead of schedule. Online bookings on the Jio site will begin from August 24. The bookings will be made against the customer’s Aadhar card copy and only one unit will be sold to one user. Bulk orders require the company’s GSTN or PAN number to process the order. Also, users booking for the phone right now can expect their phones to be delivered by September 3 to September 5.
The security deposit of Rs.1500 will need to be paid when you pick up your phone, and not at the time of booking. The Jio phone will be the cheapest smartphone in the market when released, and aside from the security deposit, users will need to recharge their phones with an amount of Rs.153 only to avail free voice, texts, unlimited data (high-speed data capped at 500MB per day), and free access to Jio apps for 28 days. A pack of Rs.309 will also be made available for users who wish to connect their phones with their TVs, for which a proprietary cable will also be needed.
